Call for Proposals – Open Data Day 2026 Hong Kong (Virtual)

To join the global celebration and advocate for open data alongside other cities, Hong Kong will host a virtual Open Data Day event on Saturday, 7 March 2026. The event will feature video conferencing, live streaming, and recordings available on YouTube.

Date: 7 March 2026, Saturday.
Time: 14:30 - 15:30 HKT

We are now calling for speaking proposals to gather more ideas and use cases around open data. If you are interested in sharing insights (but not limited to) on the topics below, please submit your proposal by 15 February 2026.

  • Successful use cases of open data in society, technology startups, or research projects?

  • Which datasets are inadequate or missing but would be valuable to society? What problems could be solved if such open data existed?

  • In your experience, which open datasets are valuable to society? What is their current state? What can they achieve now? How could they be improved?
